JNVST (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test)

The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) is the selection route for admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. Class VI is the main entry point; Class IX admission is generally handled through a separate lateral-entry process where vacancies are available.

What parents should check

• Use the current NVS prospectus to confirm class-specific eligibility, residence requirements and the permitted date-of-birth range.
• Check whether the notice is for Class VI or Class IX; their schedules and eligibility rules may differ.
• Keep the application confirmation and required certificates, and use only the official NVS admission portal for updates.

We have not confirmed a current 2027–28 notification from the official source in this review. Treat dates and application availability as unannounced until NVS publishes the relevant notice.
